INTRODUCTION Open Road Industries began in the early 1970's in a 2878 sq metre factory. In 1989 the company moved to a large factory in the Sydney suburb of Botany. With its growing profile Open Road Industries was approached by the Police, Defence and Government Departments to develop and submit helmets and other safety equipment to their specifications. The company expanded further and following its leadership profile became the first Australian manufacturer of a variety of safety helmets and equipment. After many years of research and development Open Road Industries now manufactures: - Police, Rescue, fire -fighting helmets that exceed world standards. Today Open Road Industries is now Australia's largest manufacturer of safety helmets and supplies not only government contracts but many of Australia's largest retail groups.  PRODUCTION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE The variety of helmets produced by Open Road Industries ranges from handlaid fiberglass ( a skilled art) to high speed injection moulding, vacuum forming, blow moulding and dough moulding compound. In addition we produce composite reinforced Kevlar helmets for the Military and Police. As a licenced manufacturer to Australian Standards, our quality control is impeccable. We source only raw materials from companies that have quality systems in place such as AS 3900, IS 9000, BS 5750. RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT Open Road Industries Research Engineering team is a high tech group engaged in researching products and structural parts from advanced composite and thermo materials. It offers fully integrated facilities featuring state-of-the-art equipment, technologies and in-house lab testing. Open Road Industries extensive range of products for Defence and Fire Safety applications is now being expanded with a growing line of commercial products. The company's reliability, high quality and leading edge technologies have earned it a reputation as a supplier of quality and superior products in these competitive markets. |
